What if a book came with its own soundtrack?
I’ve put together a chapter-by-chapter playlist for my novel, The Light Between Us, and I’m a bit in love with how it’s turned out.
When I was writing Sean and Linda’s story – from that first summer under the crooked tree in 1985, through mixtapes, missed chances and all the way to Cornwall and beyond – there were certain songs that just felt like they belonged with them. Some are era-perfect 80s tracks, some are later songs that capture the mood of their lives looking back.
So I’ve created a playlist you can listen to as you read, or afterwards as a way of stepping back into their world.
There’s a track for every step of their journey: childhood, Cyprus, broken promises, old ghosts, and the quiet bravery of starting again.
🎵 How to use it
You can:
Listen as you read – one song per chapter, like a soundtrack rolling alongside the story.
Replay your favourite parts – jump back to the songs for the moments that hit you hardest.
Use it as a mood mix – even without the book in your hands, it’s a playlist about time, second chances and the people we never quite let go of.

If you’ve already read The Light Between Us, I’d love to know:
Which song on the playlist hits your favourite scene?
Is there a track you think absolutely belongs on Sean and Linda’s soundtrack?
Drop your suggestions in the comments – maybe we can build a “reader’s edit” version of the playlist too. 💿✨
